What the licence covers
EU Digital Policy, by Andrea Tosti, is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). It covers everything original in the project:
- the analysis — the brief, the instrument pages and the other pages of this site;
- the datasets in
data/*.json— instruments, provisions, the timeline, institutions and competences, enforcement records, applicability rules, sources and claims; - the code that builds and checks the site.
What you may do
You may copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and remix, transform and build upon it, for any purpose, including commercially.
What you must do
- Give credit to Andrea Tosti and EU Digital Policy.
- Link to the licence.
- Indicate if you made changes, in any reasonable manner, without suggesting that the author endorses you or your use.
You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that restrict others from doing anything the licence permits.
How to cite
For a page:
Andrea Tosti, “[page title]”, EU Digital Policy, [page address], accessed [date]. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.
For the data, name the dataset file and the date or commit you used, because the records change as they are verified:
Andrea Tosti, EU Digital Policy dataset, data/[file].json,
version of [date or commit]. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Each record carries the date it was last verified; quoting it alongside a figure tells your reader how current that figure is.
What the licence does not cover
- EU legal texts and Commission documents. Quotations from and links to them are governed by those documents' own reuse terms, which this licence neither extends nor restricts.
- Other sources. Quotations from the research, press and other publications the site cites remain under their owners' terms.
- The typefaces. The self-hosted fonts (Fraunces, Literata and IBM Plex Mono) keep their own licences.
The licence grants rights in the material; it is not a statement that the material is correct or complete. Nothing on this site is legal advice — see the methodology for what the analysis can and cannot establish.
